Medium Dark Roast

Burundi: what a jewel in the heart of Africa!! Perfect for growing coffee beans with its volcanic soils and elevations between 1,200 and 2,000 meters above sea level.

The Burundi coffee industry began back in the 1930s when the Belgians gave them Arabica coffee plants. Since the beginning, Burundi’s struggled with political instability, decolonization, a civil war and genocides. Originally, the Burundi government controlled the coffee industry, focusing on quantity instead on quality, luckily, in the past few years, the Country freed the coffee industry from the government, giving back to local farmers the power to grow at its best this amazing coffee.

Our Medium Dark Roast provides unique nuanced flavors combining the fruity notes with some of the rich, darker chocolate notes, balanced acidity and creamy body. It’s a very flexible coffee, it works great as an espresso and Cold Brew, the French Press highlights the medium acidity, soft body and the sweet berry flavors, the Pour Over offers a clean cup that enhances the sweet mild flavor, letting some rich darker notes come out to play.

We taste notes of coconut, chocolate, raspberry, blood orange, brown sugar and vanilla.
